Where to stay in Cinque Terre
One of the most frequent question that people ask us is “Where to stay in Cinque Terre?” There is no a unique answer, it depends.
Staying in the Cinque Terre could offer you a great experience: most of the accommodations are private apartments, so you can really try a “live like a local” experience. On the other side, you’ve to consider the Cinque Terre could be crowded during the high season; or if you’re travelling by car, find a parking place for your car could be difficult.
You can also choose to stay outside the Cinque Terre and we can recommend you several places. For example, the village of Levanto can be a good solution: only 10 km from Cinque Terre (train ride to Monterosso takes about 12 min.), it has a great sandy beach too!
The Gulf of Poets is another interesting place where you can stay for your holidays in Cinque Terre: there are wonderful villages like Portovenere and Lerici.
Also the city of La Spezia could be a good solution: the train ride from La Spezia to Cinque Terre takes only 8 minutes.
Moreover, in the high season, there’s a regular boat service between Cinque Terre and other villages like Levanto, Portovenere, Lerici.
If you like to visit Cinque Terre but also other interesting places of Liguria like Portofino, Camogli, Sestri Levante, the city of Genova, ecc…: well, in this case, we recommend you to stay in a village located in half between Cinque Terre and the other places: for example you can choose Santa Margherita Ligure or Sestri Levante.
