One day trip from Genoa to the Cinque Terre
Plan a one day trip from Genoa to the Cinque Terre is possible and our main recommendation is to use the train. In Genoa there are two railways stations, called “Genova P.Principe” and “Genova Brignole”. From both these stations, regional trains depart to the Cinque Terre villages. During a one day trip from Genoa to the Cinque Terre you have to optimize your time: so our recommendation is to catch an Intercity train to Monterosso (it takes about 1h) and then you can organize visit and activities. Alternatively, you can take a regional train to the other villages (it takes about 1h 30’). Choose only one village, at maximum two, and move between the village by foot and by train. When you get to one of the villages of the Cinque Terre, you can also take advantage of ferry services to enjoy the Cinque Terre by the sea. Using train + ferry could be a great way to enjoy your one day trip from Genoa to the Cinque Terre. Finally, you can get your train to go back in Genoa in the late afternoon or evening, from one of the villages of the Cinque Terre.
