Cinque Terre Card: what’s, fares and how does it work?

Cinque Terre card and train tickets, all the news for 2024

 

To get around the Cinque Terre the most practical, fast and ecological way is definitely the train. You can take it from the city of La Spezia if you arrive from Tuscany, or from Levanto if you arrive from the side of Genoa.
The Cinque Terre Express run from 16 March to 3 November, which means the frequency of trains increases to meet demand, and this year there have been changes in train fares and Cinque Terre Cards.

 

 

Here are all the details:

First of all, from 2024 there is a division into 3 periods A,B and C based on the periods of highest and lowest tourist attendance.

These are the broad periods, so you can immediately understand what this is all about. To see the complete calendar here is the link.

 

Period from 16 March to 3 November:

Green Zone A: weekdays in March, April, May and October
Yellow zone B: months of June, September and some weekends.
Red zone C: months of July and August, all weekends and holidays.

 

Train tickets, here are the prices per band:

Green Zone A: € 5.00
Yellow zone B: € 8.00
Red zone C: € 10.00

What is the Cinque Terre card?

The Cinque Terre Card is a service card created by the Cinque Terre National Park to manage the tourism in Cinque Terre area.

There are two different types of cards: the Cinque Terre Trekking Card and the Cinque Terre train card.

The Cinque terre Trekking card

Allows you:

the access to the footpaths of the National Park
– guided visits (according to the calendar)
– the use of sustainable transports into the Park
– the use of public toilets in the municipality of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, Monterosso
– Internet Wi-Fi in the National Park hotspots
– Participation in the workshops of the Park’s Environmental Education Centre, according to schedule
– a reduced price for the Public Museums in La Spezia (Amedeo Lia, Castello San Giorgio, CAMeC, Sigillo, Palazzina delle Arti, Etnografico, Diocesano).

The Standard price of the Cinque Terre trekking card is 7.50 Euro (adult – 1 day) or 14.50 € (adult – 2 days).

The “Cinque Terre Train MS Card”

It provides all the services of the Trekking card, plus unlimited 2nd class travel on regional, interregional and direct trains between Levanto and La Spezia (and vice versa).

 

The prices for a one-day Train Card (valid until 23.59 of the same day of validation) are:
Green zone A: € 19,50/adult – € 12,50/child (from 4 to 12 years old) – € 16,00/over 70 – €49,00/family (2 adults + 2 or more kids)
Yellow zone B: € 27,00/adult – € 17,50/child (from 4 to 12 years of age) – € 22,50/over 70 – €69,50/family (2 adults + 2 or more kids)
Red zone C: € 32,50/adult – € 21,00/child (from 4 to 12 years of age) – € 27,00/over 70 – €84,00/family (2 adults + 2 or more kids)

 

The prices for a two-day Train Card (valid until 23.59 on the day after validation) are
Green zone A: € 34.00/adult – € 22.00/child (from 4 to 12 years of age)- € 28,00/over 70 – €86,50/family (2 adults + 2 or more kids)
Yellow zone B: € 48.50/adult – € 31.00/child (from 4 to 12 years of age)- € 40,00/over 70 – €124,50/family (2 adults + 2 or more kids)
Red zone C: € 59,00/adult – € 38,00/child (from 4 to 12 years of age)- € 48,50/over 70 – €151,50/family (2 adults + 2 or more kids)

 

The prices for a three-day Train Card (valid until 11.59 p.m. on the 2nd day after validation) are
Green zone A: € 46.50/adult – € 30.50/child (4 to 12 years of age) – € 38,50/over 70 – €118,00/family (2 adults + 2 or more kids)
Yellow zone B: € 65,50/adult – € 42,00/child (from 4 to 12 years of age) – € 53,50/over 70 – €167,50/family (2 adults + 2 or more kids)
Red zone C: € 78,50/adult – € 51,00/child (from 4 to 12 years of age) – € 65,00/over 70 – €203,00/family (2 adults + 2 or more kids)

 

The “Cinque Terre Train MS Card”, also includes an unlimited number of journeys in 2nd class on Regional, Interregional and Direct trains between Levanto and La Spezia (and viceversa).

Cinque Terre Cards are available online on the official website of Cinque Terre National Park or at Info Point and Tourist Offices in each railways station of Cinque Terre villages, Levanto and La Spezia.

The Cinque Terre Trekking Card is on sale at the Cinque Terre National Park Welcome Centres and can also be purchased online in the dedicated section at the link below.
