After the flood of the last October, 25th that hit the Cinque Terre, today we’ve to comment again a same situation: this time heavy rains hit the city of Genoa, already damaged last year in the same period (October)
In that occasion the flood hit the suburb of Sestri Ponente, in the western part of the city; today indeed the most hit zones are in the city center and in the eastern part.
After 3 hours of heavy rains, from 10 am in the morning till 1 p.m., one of the 2 streams of the city, the Bisagno, usually a dry stream, overflowed, flooding all the adjacent zone and the suburbs of Marassi, Staglieno, Brignole and the city center with the main street (Via XX Settembre, in the picture) and Piazza della Vittoria.
Overflowed also the Rio Fereggiano, an other smaller stream, affluent of the Bisagno, creating a lot of damages in all the suburb of Marassi, now under 40 cm of water.
Already 2 people died and 3 missing, but the balance is destined to increase unfortunately.
There will be new updates in the next hours.
