After the terrible flood on last Oct. 25th, the Commissary of the Cinque Terre National Park, Vincenzo Santoro, has decided to create a “technical table” to restore the historic footpaths of the Cinque Terre, because they are also an important touristic attraction.
Indeed, a meeting with Park, Province and Municipality has been called in the last days and, at the end, it has been decided that the main objective is the recovery, restore and re-opening of the most of footpaths within next Easter.
From a side there’s the need to manage the emergency, from the other to plan some actions to restart the local economy.
Actually the general situation of the footpaths is that most of them is damaged or destroyed due to the landslides: the famous path n° 2, also called “Blue Path” is closed, except the part between Manarola and Riomaggiore (“Via dell’Amore”) reopened in the last days.
Everyone can check the situation on the Cinque Terre National Park official website, at the following address: http://press.parconazionale5terre.it/news_dett.asp?id_prodotto=1436&id_lingue=1
