The myths, the legends and the charm of the ancient figurehead at the Naval Museum of La Spezia

Like being at sea, as during a gathering of old sailboats, but with your feet firmly on the ground. It feels like being still between many historicals hulls, admiring the beauty of the Figurehead Hall of the Naval Museum of Spezia, where 29 wooden sculptures were assembled on supports recalling the front line of ships, the same that have sailed the seas of the world.
There is the mythical Atalanta, in front of which two sailors lost their life, Princess Sissi, enchanting with its sophistication and care of the details of its robe, the frightening dragon who put the teutonic navies at attention, the haughty and strong Minerva and Cristoforo Colombo, survivor of the homonymous ship, twin of Vespucci, given to Russia to offset the debts of war, then destroyed by a fire. Figureheads of unbelievable beauty and charm, made between the half of 18th century and the early Thirties, witnesses of battles, enterprises and long sailing. We have been visiting this room to report it to you, with words and images after the preview of the last few weeks and we confirm that few experiences can give you emotions like this: we expect you with our services at La Spezia, certain that you will be there during your vacation at Cinque Terre and Eastern Liguria.
